The International Symposium of the Jockey Club “Sports without Limits” Youth Empowerment Programme and ASAPE 2022 Hong Kong
The first day’s symposium included two keynote speeches and an invitation-only symposium. The first keynote speaker was UNESCO Chair Project Manager Ms Catherine Carty, who discussed adapted physical education, human rights and sustainable development. The second keynote speaker was Professor Martin Block from the University of Virginia, who talked about using a Paralympic school day as a model for professional development for physical educators. At the symposium, renowned researchers delivered a synopsis on the development and status of APA in various regions of Asia, including Dr Jane Yu from Zhejiang University; Professor Tomoyasu Yasui from Hokkaido University of Education; Dr Selina Khoo from the University of Malaya; Professor Lee Yong-ho from Seoul National University; Professor Pan Chien-yu from National Kaohsiung Normal University, Taiwan; and Dr Weerawat Limroongreungrat from Mahidol University, Thailand.

Other renowned scholars talk about their research and practice in APA on 5 and 6 August 2022: Professor Dale Ulrich from the University of Michigan; Professor Andy Tsai Chia-liang from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan; Professor David Legg from Mount Royal University, Canada; Professor Li Chunxiao from South China Normal University; Professor Wu Yan-dan from Fujian Normal University; Professor Omar Hindawi from Hashemite University, Jordan; and Dr Jin Jooyeon from the University of Seoul.

On 6 August, there will be an invitation-only symposium, “Global Matrix Para Report Cards on Physical Activity of Children and Adolescents with Disabilities: Asian Perspectives”, led by Dr Kwok Ng, Vice-President, International Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (IFAPA) and European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA). The presenters are Professor Cindy Sit Hui-ping from CUHK; Ms Mary-Grace Kang from the University of the Philippines; Dr Lee Jeong-min from Yonsei University, South Korea; and Professor Yeshayahu Hutzler from the Academic Center Levinsky-Wingate, Israel. In addition, researchers from different countries and regions will share insightful research featuring ground-breaking ideas in the format of oral, poster and video presentations on 5 and 6 August.
